Perth Trip: Day 3

Only 2 more days left! Hehe~
Today we had a writing workshop, followed by visiting the WA art gallery. The writing workshop was pretty fun! Our teacher was very engaging, and had a very interesting view on things. 3 hours were perhaps a little tough, but it was fun nonetheless!
And then, and then, when we went to the art gallery (which we passed by yesterday..) we got wifi! Yay! I missed the Internet so! And my mum was apparently doing pedicure, and so she didn't exactly notice my message to her a single bit. Joy!
But the arts in the museum were really really good. There was a 7 paneled one that was.. Stupendous! I can't believe I only got interested in art this year.. A shame, that.. I wonder if its too late to go to Lasalle? Oh oh! There was an 80-year-old woman painter who painted more than 4,000 paintings in 8 years! She did them all without an easel, and it was.. Woah. Admirable woman, that. Ehehe.
Out of my 4 roommates, 2 of them got sick.. I hope they're feeling alright! At least there's only 2 more days left..!

Perth Trip: Day 2

I woke up today to all my roommates shifting and shuffling, and an odd screaming and shouting that was apparently an alarm. The day was really bright, but it was still early.. The sun rises fast! We went for a school exchange today, as well as a visit to the state library. It was a little awkward conversing with the students, since we didn't really have much in common, but they were nice, colorful people. Hehe. There was a 'dungeon', too, and it was a horror house that was really, really scary. I was screaming and running the whole way, and I think my new friend had bruises with how much I dragged his shirt down. Ahaha.. The nicest part of the house was, oddly enough, a hand protruding from the wall. I prodded it a few times, then offered my water bottle to the hand. It started to drag it towards the wall, and I was tugging at it (surprisingly amusing, if morbid, but considering it was a REALLY scary place..) till the guide (when did he get behind me?) told me to not fight with the lost souls. XD Then came the state library, and I got 4 books at the store in the library (an excellent idea) for $7! I'm going to read 'Torture The Artist' first! Interesting book about how the state of a person's mind can affect their art.. I think.. It wasn't too bad of a day! I still look forward to going home, though.. Wonder if we'll learn anything new in the workshops lined up tomorrow?

Perth Trip: Day 1

Recently embarked on a school trip to Perth, leaving at about midnight on 23rd November 2012. Woke up with a horrid crick in my neck from an awkward sleeping position. Alas, we had to go on a tour immediately, so.. No time for rest here! Luckily, the bus our group of about 20 was assigned to was pretty comfortable, and everyone fell asleep, I'd say. We visited Monument Hill, Caversham Wildlife Park, a Chocolate Factory, and the Parliament House. It was my first time (in my memory, at least) that I ever touched Koalas and Kangaroos. They were so friendly, and it was a little depressing to run out of pellets to feed them. It felt oddly like Kangaroos only had a few teeth, and their paws were really cute! It was also fun to act out a scene of how a law was passed, and it was a little weird how everyone had to repeat 'Mr. Speaker' over and over again.. And we didn't go on a tour of the Chocolate Factory (as opposed to our expectations) due to a lack of time.. We did taste many samples, though! It was overall very interesting, if a little bland. I look forward to the workshops and school exchange the next few days! Think I might be getting a little homesick, too.. Huh.
